Simon Radley is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Chief Medical Officer, and the founder of Medmin and it’s product Total Practice Management. He graduated in medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1985 and has practiced as a consultant surgeon in Birmingham for just short of 30 years, specialising in colorectal and bowel conditions across both NHS and private settings.

His clinical career has been defined by a commitment to raising standards of specialist care. Simon founded the Birmingham Bowel Clinic, the UK’s first multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of bowel conditions, bringing together surgeons, gastroenterologists, and specialist nurses under one service. He went on to establish the Birmingham Hernia Clinic, applying the same model of focused, consultant-led care to hernia management.

It was through building and running his own successful private practice that Simon gained first-hand experience of the operational challenges consultants face outside the clinic room, from billing and compliance to patient communications and diary management. Recognising that most consultants lacked access to the high-quality administrative support needed to sustain a private practice long-term, he founded Medmin in 2018.

Under Simon’s leadership, Medmin has grown into a dedicated practice management partner for consultant doctors across the UK, supporting both newly appointed and established consultants in building and scaling sustainable private practices. His unique perspective as both a practising clinician and a business founder ensures that Medmin’s services are shaped by real clinical insight, not just commercial logic.
